Job summary

Bi-County Community Action Programs, Inc. is seeking a Professional Development/Classroom Coordinator to lead staff onboarding and ongoing professional development in Bemidji.

The role involves coordinating trainings, observing and coaching staff, and ensuring quality classroom practices. The position requires a degree in early childhood education (or equivalent) and relevant supervisory experience, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or equivalent coursework with teaching experience.
• 2+ years classroom or supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Transportation available to attend meetings/training.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trainer for staff onboarding, assessment, curriculum, and other trainings.
• Support logistical/technical aspects of staff trainings and development.
• Coach staff through observation, reflective feedback, and modeling best practices.
• Supervise the Coach and two teaching teams by providing classroom support in Walker and Pine River.
• Maintain coaching documentation, notes, and records.
• Work with staff pursuing their CDA credential.
• Collaborate with leadership to strengthen program quality and staff success.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT/CLASSROOM COORDINATOR

A Day in the Life

• Serve as a trainer for staff on-boarding, assessment, curriculum, and other professional development trainings
• Support the logistical and technical aspects of staff trainings and professional development opportunities
• Coach staff through observation, reflective feedback, and modeling best practices
• Supervise the Coach and two teaching teams by providing classroom support in Walker and Pine River, including filling in as needed
• Maintain coaching documentation, notes, and records
• Work directly with staff pursuing their Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
• Collaborate with leadership teams to strengthen program quality and staff success

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education, or a baccalaureate or advanced degree and equivalent coursework in early childhood education, with early education teaching experience.
• 2+ years prior classroom and/or supervisory experience is preferred.
• You must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• You must have transportation available to attend meetings/training.

Wages

10 months (August – May) Full time, 40 hours/week, $25.81 - $36.14/hr. Eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, life/add and retirement plan benefits. Paid time off, holiday pay. Retention bonus eligible.

Flexible schedule based on program needs. Home office will be at the Bemidji Head Start Center.
