Job summary

Florida Parishes Human Services Authority in Hammond, LA seeks a Professional Counselor to provide clinical assessment and treatment for adults and children with substance use disorders, developmental disabilities, or mental health needs. Must hold LPC or LMFT licensure with at least two years of licensed counseling experience.

The role includes intake evaluations, treatment planning, crisis evaluation, and interagency communication. Premium pay of $1.00/hour for direct patient care applies.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) plus two years of licensed counseling experience.

Responsibilities

• Completes intake and psycho-social evaluations on primarily adults and some aftercare individuals, which includes providing technical and clinical input on diagnosis and treatment in the interdisciplinary staff consultation with staff prescribers to establish an individual's treatment plan for each individual in treatment.
• Completes correspondence, written reports, and other communications with other agencies regarding an individual's care
• May provide crisis evaluation for individuals who are in acute distress as indicated by a family member, coroner, law authorities, etc., which may require complex and specialized crisis intervention, psychosocial evaluation, and specialized clinical treatment.

Compensation: This position is eligible for premium pay of $1.00/hour for hours worked performing direct patient care.

The following rates are Special Entrance Rates (SER) established for this agency in these job titles:

• Professional Counselor 4: $24.35/hour minimum - $40.53/hour maximum
