THE POSITION

The Bureau of Enforcement and Investigation (BEI) is looking for individuals to be part of a team of professional conduct investigators. As a Professional Conduct Investigator 1 with BEI, you will participate in our investigations into allegations of violations of standards of conduct, laws, rules, and regulations for 29 licensing boards and commissions. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will plans, coordinate, and conduct investigations into allegations of violations of the standards of conduct, laws, rules, and regulations of the professional and occupational licensing boards and commissions under the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs. This includes close collaboration with supervisors and prosecuting attorneys to ensure all factual information is collected. Work involves reviewing and evaluating information and documents, including legal documents; familiarity with various office equipment and software; conducting in-person interviews; and writing thorough, accurate, and timely reports. You will be expected to travel to various sites in a geographic region and may be needed to testify at hearing or proceedings. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • This position requires travel.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time at the discretion of the program area and supervisors based on operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Regulatory Enforcement Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Five years of investigative experience; or
  • One year of investigative experience and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that included one year of investigative experience.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
