Production Workflow Engineer, Production Technology Engineering

Do you like to build? Are you passionate about the Media and Entertainment space? Amazon MGM Studios (AMS) Production Technology Engineering is seeking a Production Workflow Engineer (PWE) who will be responsible for driving adoption of the Studio's production and post production workflows in the cloud.


Key job responsibilities

  1. The AMS Production Workflow Engineer (PWE) is responsible for driving adoption of cloud-based workflows (dailies, editorial, conform, color, mastering, remote production and others). You accomplish this by educating customers, internal partners, and third party production companies about the Studio's suite of creative workflows.
  2. You work with vendors to validate workflows and integrate local workflow with the cloud.
  3. The PWE builds and deploys workflows, acts as a primary contact for our internal stakeholders and end-customers.
  4. The PWE communicates gathers and communicates requirements and issues back to the product and engineering team.
  5. They work with customers remotely and in person.
  6. You will be a subject matter expert on the Studio's workflows and post production creative workflows in general.
  7. You will anticipate future trends and identify applications of emerging technologies and provide information to Product and Engineering to reduce friction, eliminate waste, and support faster workflows.
  8. In addition you'll help drive thought leadership around the Studio's cloud-based media and entertainment workflows.
  9. You will deliver written and spoken communications to establish AMS as a leader among studios who are using the cloud to expand capabilities globally, enhance capabilities and ensure access to global talent.

A day in the life

You will lead engagements with management and post leadership at partner production and post companies, onboard productions, and help evangelize cloud production at the Studio and in the Media & Entertainment (M&E) industry.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  2. 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  3. Production technology and media/entertainment experience, including building and managing post production workflows for films, series and unscripted productions.
  4. Expertise in the capabilities, use and deployment of leading industry content creation tools like Avid Media Composer, Avid NEXIS Blackmagic Resolve, Colorfront On-Set Dailies, Colorfront Transkoder, Adobe Creative Cloud
  5. Experience deploying and supporting workflows following industry content security standards.
  6. Expertise in using and operating AWS Services, like EC2, S3, Route53, VPC
  7. Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well in a team and interface with both business executives, product teams and engineers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience working directly in customer implementations
  2. Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
  3. Experience with AWS technologies
  4. Working fluency in Spanish
