Job summary

Kennametal in Orwell, OH is seeking Production Workers to join a clean, climate-controlled facility on a 2-2-3 schedule. Starting pay is $20 per hour with shift differentials, and openings exist on all three shifts: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am.

Typical duties include operating PVD coating furnaces, recording weights and cycle data, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring equipment cleanliness. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, basic math skills, and PC comfort,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; a 2-year technical degree is preferred.
• Ability to understand oral and written communications and perform basic math.
• Comfort using a PC and software, including SAP MII; handle inserts without chipping.

Responsibilities

• Operate PVD coating furnaces to coat carbide and Cermet inserts and ensure setup and cleanliness.
• Enter product weights and coating cycle information into the computer system and monitor the process.
• Perform maintenance tasks, clean fixtures and base plates, ensure gas supply, and conduct periodic batch cleanings.

Also thereare 12 hours- either 6:40am-6:40pm, OR 6:40PM- 6:40AM
on a 2-2-3 schedule

What’s a typical day as a Machine Operator? You’ll be:

• Operating PVD coating furnaces to coat carbide and Cermet inserts, ensuring product setup and cleanliness.
• Entering product weights and desired coating cycle information into the computer system and monitoring the coating process.
• Performing necessary maintenance tasks, including cleaning fixtures and base plates, ensuring adequate gas supply, and conducting batch cleanings at proper intervals.
