Description

SUMMARY: The Production Worker performs all tasks involved in the production of Corsicana Bedding products as assigned by the Plant Manager and/or Production Supervisor. The Production Worker follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible in order to support the production goals and corporate values of Corsicana Bedding.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
  1. Reads Work Orders and performs work as assigned by Production Supervisor.
  2. Sews, cuts, clips, hooks, staples or otherwise assembles the materials to produce sub-assemblies or finished product from raw materials.
  3. Attaches appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
  4. Packs finished goods into correct packages and/or boxes. Places finished goods on designated pallets as needed.
  5. Tracks production and completion of Work Orders on schedule board or in computer system.
  6. Notifies supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
  7. Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  8. Participates in cross training opportunities in order to maximize effectiveness.
  9. Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Two years' experience preferred.
  3. Ability to responsibly use work related equipment and materials.
  4. Good communication skills - written and verbal.
  5. Ability to communicate with supervisor for training and development.
  6. Attention to detail.
  7. Ability to plan and organize; good time management skills.
  8. Ability to retain information (e.g., policies, procedures) or find it as needed.
  9. Problem solving ability.
  10. Ability to operate under pressure of deadlines.
  11. Cooperative, team oriented, patient, calm under pressure, and able to work independently.
  12. Ability to function in fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  13. Basic math aptitude.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee will generally be housed in a climate controlled, well-lit environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
