Production Worker (Refinery) - Valdosta, GA
This is a full-time, hourly position.

Job Summary/Scope
The Production Worker position is a step above Utility within the Refinery. Responsibilities include supplying materials to the production area, general housekeeping, receiving and maintaining materials for inventory, and assisting operators in various production areas as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety, food safety, and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and programs applicable to the position.
  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Work rotating shifts.
  • Maintain qualifications for Utility duties.
  • Operate industrial forklifts/trucks.
  • Assist with rail car movements as a Ground Man under the Rail Safety Program.
  • Receive and unload incoming ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain FIFO standards for non-bulk ingredients.
  • Use a tape measure with a ball float for inventory.
  • Collect production samples for quality and environmental testing.
  • Operate and maintain wastewater units and manage feed sources for compliance with permits.
  • Be eligible to temporarily step up to an Operator III position with management approval and qualifications.

Operator II Responsibilities

  • Include all duties of the Production Worker and Operator III.
  • Operate and troubleshoot soy refining, bleaching, and cotton bleaching.
  • Conduct production changes.
  • Be able to temporarily step up to an Operator I in the loadout department.

Competencies

  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking English, and basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to communicate professionally.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in food prep or industrial setting preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Forklift certification required.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk for long periods.
  • Lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Wear a respirator.
  • Bend, kneel, work in confined spaces and at heights.

Additional notes: Successful background check required. Base pay: $17.19 + $1.50 shift differential.
