Job summary

LP Building Solutions is seeking a plant associate to support production operations in a mill environment. You will perform clean-up, assist packaging, and transfer panels while adhering to safety and quality standards.

No prior experience required; a high school diploma is preferred. The environment is dusty and not temperature controlled, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

  • Must understand and obey all safety policies and regulations.
  • Familiarity with environmental policies including spill response and waste procedures.
  • Strong time management and teamwork abilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of line position duties and functions.
  • Experience with plant clean-up and utility tasks.
  • Ability to operate a chainsaw.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clean-up and utility duties under supervisor direction.
  • Inspect press panels for surface defects and discard defective parts.
  • Assist in packaging finished products.
  • Transfer panels to storage areas.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records.
  • Provide general relief for line positions during breaks.

Job Purpose

Support the plant in performing a combination of various tasks as a member of the team.

In This Position You Will Have The Opportunity To
  • Perform clean-up and utility duties under direction from supervisor (sweeping floors, picking up trash, painting, cleaning equipment, etc.)
  • Examine press panels for surface defects and discard defective parts.
  • Assist in packaging of finished products.
  • Transfer panels to storage area.
  • Conduct complete and accurate recordkeeping.
  • Provide general relief in support of line positions during breaks assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Understand and obey all safety policies, standards, and regulations at company, state, and federal levels.
  • Recognize and comply with all environmental policies and procedures including spill response, general waste, and wood waste procedures.
  • Excellent time management and teamwork skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of line position duties and functions.
  • Advance knowledge of plant clean-up and utility functions.
  • Ability to use a chainsaw.
  • Moderate knowledge of JHA, JSA, Job Processes Maps, and Environmental Management System for this position.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
  • No experience required.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
Work Environment
  • Mill environment, dusty, not temperature controlled
