Job description

Your Opportunity as Utility 1 – Production 2nd shift

Join our Production Team as a Utility 1 worker on the 2nd shift, responsible for bakery manufacturing activities. You should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively, work well in a team, and be flexible in your work assignments within the utility category. Responsibilities include roles such as Pan Setter, Feeder, Packer / Carton, Packer / Cases, Shipping Stacker, Handler, Sanitor, Receiver, and Palletizer. You must follow written and verbal instructions, perform duties safely and accurately, and maintain GMP standards. You will also be part of the Food Defense Team.

Location : Indianapolis, IN - Manufacturing Plant

Work Arrangements : 100% on-site

Compensation Base Rate : $20.32 / hour with an additional .25 differential, 6pm-6am

In this Role You Will :

  • Work as a helper on one production line in various roles (Helper, Indexer, Feeder, Packer, Catcher, etc.).
  • Perform manual labor tasks such as grasping, lifting, moving, placing, and stacking items related to production.
  • Feed, catch, and monitor the production line.
  • Visually inspect products for quality and quantity.
  • Support quality control to ensure food safety and quality standards.
  • Report equipment issues promptly.
  • Follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout when applicable.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment following safety policies and GMP.
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitation as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Adhere to safety and food safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We are Looking For :

Minimum Requirements :

  • Ability to work night shift.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.

Additional skills and experience that would be beneficial :

  • Previous safety training preferred.
  • Food industry experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with bakery equipment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Tools and Equipment : All tools and equipment needed will be provided and maintained by the employer at no cost. These must be kept on the premises.

Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing environment with potentially loud noise levels.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and use hands.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds and push/pull heavy carts.
  • Specific vision abilities are required.
