Basic Qualifications

Company Overview

Howmet Engines produces aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, rings, disks, and forgings, using vacuum melted superalloys, machining, coatings, and hot isostatic pressing. Howmet Dover Casting supplies investment-cast turbine airfoils and components for aerospace and industrial turbines. Howmet Dover Alloy provides vacuum and air-melted nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys.

Position Details

We are seeking a Metal Workcell Operator to join our Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey. The Afternoon shift hours are Monday - Friday, 3 PM - 11 PM. Training will be provided on the Day shift (Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM) for several weeks.

Starting hourly rate: $24.15; after 12 months: $26.77.

The position includes a shift premium for off-shift work. Our benefits package includes paid vacation, holidays, 401(k) with company match, health benefits, life insurance, EAP, tuition assistance, and a free fitness center membership.

Position Overview

Work cell operators perform dimensional inspections and repairs on castings, visually inspecting to customer specifications.

Environmental, Health & Safety Responsibilities
  • Implement EHS policies and comply with all regulations.
  • Wear PPE and report safety concerns and injuries.
  • Attend EHS training.
Essential Job Functions
  • Perform visual inspections and pass written visual tests.
  • Perform operations such as belting, stoning, buffing to remove imperfections.
  • Inspect and repair castings for pitch, chord width, and trailing edge thickness.
  • Use methods like hammering, arboring, twisting, stoning, belting, buffing, and drilling for repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure quality.
  • Maintain records and a clean, safe work area.
  • Verify calibration and router accuracy before work.
  • Operate electronic gauges as required.
  • Read and understand finishing visual instructions.
Interpersonal Responsibilities

Work cell operators frequently interact with quality, engineering, and other teams.
