Job summary

Itape in Wisconsin is seeking a Creel Tender in the GUMMING/LAMINATING department. The role supports the Laminator Operator, focusing on economy, quality and safety in daily operations.

You will assist with creel maintenance, yarn handling, and stocking spools and supplies in creel areas, following supervisor instructions and helping with web breaks and mill rolls as needed. Work is performed in a clean, safe environment with emphasis on proper yarn denier and placement.

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions from the Operator and Manager or Supervisors.
• Maintains upstairs and downstairs creels and ensures proper yarn denier and yarn placement for shop work order.
• Places spools on creel racks and splices together; puts CD yarns in scrim; places yarns in eyeboard and comb; packs reject/empty spools; stocks spools/supplies into creel areas.
• Assists the Operator or Assistant Operator with mill roll preparation and web breaks.
• Performs other tasks as directed by Manager or Supervisor.

POSITION: CREEL TENDER

DEPARTMENT: GUMMING/LAMINATING

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the Laminator Operator as it relates to the economy of the operation, quality and quantity of product, cleanliness of the area, and work performed in a safe manner.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES:

1. Receives instructions from the Operator and Manager or Supervisors.
2. Maintains upstairs and downstairs creels and insures use of proper yarn denier and yarn placement for shop work order.
3. Responsible for the following:
   • A. Places spools on creel racks and splices together
   • B. Putting CD yarns in scrim
   • C. Putting yarns in eyeboard and comb
   • D. Packages reject/empty spools
   • E. Stocks spools/supplies into creel areas
4. Responsible for assisting the Operator or Assistant Operator with:
   • A. Mill roll (unwind splices and preparation)
   • B. Web breaks
5. Performs other tasks as directed by Manager or Supervisor.
