Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a FPI Inspector for its Dover, NJ location to inspect castings using penetrant methods and ensure quality per standards. The role supports multiple shifts (1st/2nd/3rd and weekends) with day shift training and an off-shift premium.

Competitive hourly pay ranges from $28 to $31 per hour plus comprehensive benefits. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, be legally eligible to work in the US, and be able to pass Level 1 and 2 inspections.

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a FPI Inspector to join our Howmet Casting located in Dover, New Jersey.

The work hours for these positions are on multiple shifts 1st 2nd, 3rd, and weekend openings

Training on day shift.

Anticipated Pay Range: $28 .00- $31.00 per hour.

*Pay rates within this range are determined based on various factors including experience, education, certifications, etc.

Position will receive an hourly "shift premium" while assigned to an off-shift

JOB SUMMARY

The FPI Inspector is responsible for inspecting castings for defects using a penetrant and black light booth.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace's EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
• Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Report all job-related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook).
• Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
• Attend all EH&S training.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions

• Process Casting using Penetrant in order to prepare casting for inspection
• Inspects castings under black and white light in accordance with predetermined standards for purposes of detecting surface defects;
• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe condition;
• Marks failures and separates castings into acceptable, failure, and rework categories;
• Highlights abnormal indications to supervision;
• Assists with dispatching when required;
• Complete paperwork as assigned by supervisor or job standards.
• Must be able to pass Level 1 and Level 2 exam

• This position requires the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in English;
• Must be able to work flexible hours including night and weekends with little advanced notice.

• Equipment used: spray guns, black lights, ovens, wash machines, developer cabinet.
