Job summary

Kent Moore Cabinets in Bryan, Texas is seeking a Cabinet Installer to assemble cabinet components, install drawers, and ensure structural integrity in designated work areas. You will safely operate staple guns, drills, and drawer presses, use a tape measure to determine sizes, and mate drawers to cabinets while maintaining a low defect rate and supporting the production schedule.

You will also verify part compatibility and assist with loading materials, requiring strong attention to measurements

Job Summary

Responsible for installing hardware such as drawer guides, drawers, screws, and other accessories in designated areas to ensure structural integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble various cabinet components and materials.
  • Safely operate assigned equipment such as staple guns, drills, and drawer presses.
  • Use a tape measure to determine sizes for parts.
  • Maintain no more than a one-percent rejection rate per workday.
  • Supply the sufficient amount of parts in the buffers established by the schedule.
  • Inspect component parts prior to working on them and again after they are machined for correct specifications.
  • Match drawers to the appropriate cabinet.
  • Install the drawers into the appropriate cabinet.
Qualifications
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have mathematical skills to take measurements on cabinets and materials.
  • Must have corrected hearing to listen to needs and instructions of managers and coworkers and to the environment to be aware of surroundings.
  • Must have corrected vision to be aware of surroundings and the locations of items needed.
  • Should have knowledge of or ability to use a tape measure, saws, drills, and other hand tools.
Essential Functions of the Job
  • Stand and walk up to a total of ten hours per day on a concrete surface.
  • Lifts and carries cabinets, parts, and tools in accordance with the requirements listed below, frequently and repetitively for up to ten hours a day.
  • Bends and stoops to reach areas difficult to access.
  • Performs twisting and rotation motions using head, neck, waist, knees, and arms while installing doors.
  • Frequently reaches in order to attach parts and complete final assembly of cabinets.
  • Handles drills, hand tools, hardware, and cabinet parts, either unilaterally (one-handed) or bilaterally (two-handed) depending on the size and shape of the task.
  • Constantly uses fingers to attach hardware, drawers, and various parts to finished cabinets.
  • Must be mentally alert and capable of remembering faces, names, oral instructions, and details of varying types and sizes of materials and cabinets.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with management and coworkers by phone or in-person.
  • Must be able to withstand fluctuations in temperature and environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to work the required daily and weekly hours as determined by the schedule.
  • Good attendance and punctuality are necessary.
  • Must exemplify the company’s image of excellence through appearance and behavior.
  • Must be alert and able to identify and respond to a hazard by reporting it immediately or taking corrective measures if directed.
