Job summary

Russells Technical Products Inc. is seeking workers for the Custom Cabinet Department to read drawings, identify components, and drill, deburr, and assemble cabinet sections. You will install hinges, latches, and hardware, seal joints, and prepare sections for the next department.

Must have a high school diploma or GED and experience with hand/power tools or related fabrication fields. Safety PPE and team collaboration are required; willingness to learn new processes is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, fabrication, sheet metal, or construction experience preferred.
  • Experience using hand and power tools preferred.
  • Previous experience reading basic drawings or blueprints is helpful.
  • Willingness to learn new processes, tools, and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, prints, and work orders.
  • Identify required materials and components.
  • Drill and punch holes.
  • Deburr and smooth sharp edges.
  • Grind and clean metal as needed.
  • Assemble basic cabinet panels and sections.
  • Install brackets, supports, stiffeners, and reinforcements.
  • Install hinges, latches, handles, and other hardware.
  • Install insulation or insulation supports as required.
  • Seal seams and joints.
  • Apply caulking or other sealants.
  • Label and organize components for assembly.
  • Prepare completed cabinet sections for the next department.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and shop equipment safely.
  • Report material shortages, damaged parts, or drawing issues to the appropriate person
  • Follow work instructions and quality requirements

Salary $20.00 to $23.00 per hour

Requirements
Education & Experience

  • Willingness to learn new processes, tools, and equipment.

  • Ability to read and follow basic drawings, work instructions, and measurements.
  • Ability to use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools.
  • Basic math skills, including fractions and measurements.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to identify problems and ask questions when instructions are unclear.
  • Dependable and willing to take ownership of assigned work.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the work area for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials and components as required.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, kneel, and work in different positions.
  • Ability to safely handle sheet metal and other materials.
  • Ability to use required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves when appropriate, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
