Job summary

Nestlé Purina in Flagstaff is seeking Production Operator staff to run lines, move materials, and support quality checks. The role requires following Safety, Health and Environmental standards while operating various production equipment and forklifts.

The position exists on three shifts with potential overtime on evenings and weekends. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and 1+ years in a fast-paced manufacturing or related environment.

Responsibilities

• Supply production lines and meat prep stations with adequate supplies to ensure continuous operations.
• Measure, weigh, blend and add materials to manual or automated systems; adjust speeds and temperatures as needed.
• Pull samples and perform quality tests; assist on quality trials and deliver samples to QA.
• Visually inspect ingredients and pallets; remove any foreign materials.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment; follow safety with cleaning chemicals.
• Safely operate, troubleshoot, and minor repairs on equipment; follow lockout procedures.
• Support the factory in continuous improvement initiatives.
• All other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Resting at 7,000 feet and surrounded by the San Francisco Peaks, the scenic city of Flagstaff remains an important distribution site for large manufacturers like Nestlé Purina. Annually, the Nestlé Purina team in Flagstaff proudly mass manufactures 280,000 tons of dry pet food from our Dog Chow®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Alpo®, and Pro Plan® brands. Our factory is also proud to do our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal.

The Production Operator positions are a vital piece of our manufacturing operations. You will be required to meet all Safety, Health, Quality and Environmental standards when performing job duties. The primary responsibilities in these roles include but are not limited to operating various lines of equipment in production, packaging, moving raw material or finished packaged good with a forklift or other pallet jack, and providing relief for absences or vacations. These roles exist on all three shifts and the opportunity for mandatory or voluntary overtime exist on these shifts and weekends, as required.

• Supply production lines and meat prep stations with adequate supplies to ensure continuous operations.
• Measure, weigh, blend and add materials to manual or automated systems, adjust speeds, temperatures, as needed.
• Pull samples and perform quality test, assist on quality trials or deliver test samples to Quality Assurance.
• Visually inspect ingredients and any substandard pallets or cans and remove any foreign materials from products.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment ensuring safe practices when mixing cleaning chemicals used in the sanitation process.
• Safely and efficiently operate, troubleshoot, and make minor repairs on operating equipment and use lock out procedures, as prescribed.
• Support the factory in continuous improvement initiatives.
• All other duties as assigned

Pay: $28.99 per hour

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
