Production Worker (Core Leacher - 3rd Shift)

Responsibilities

Howmet Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, rings, disks, and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings, and hot isostatic pressing for high-performance parts that enable the next generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation. Howmet Dover Casting supplies complex, investment-cast turbine airfoils and other components for the aircraft engine and industrial gas turbine industries. Howmet Dover Alloy provides vacuum and air-melted nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys to aerospace, gas turbine, medical, and other high-tech industrial markets.

We are currently seeking a Core Leacher to join our Howmet Casting facility in Dover, New Jersey. This Afternoon Shift position works Sunday Night to Thursday Night, 10PM-6AM. Training occurs on the 1st shift, 6AM-2PM.

Starting hourly rate for new hires is $24.15; after 12 months, it increases to $26.77. The position includes an hourly shift premium when assigned to an off-shift.

Job Summary

This role involves removing ceramic cores and quartz tubes from castings.

Environmental Health & Safety Responsibilities
  • Implement EHS policies and values.
  • Comply with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Wear required PPE.
  • Report injuries and safety concerns promptly.
  • Attend all EHS training sessions.
Essential Job Functions
  • Remove ceramic cores and quartz tubes using caustic solutions under specified conditions.
  • Process castings with acids or other chemicals for inspection.
  • Prepare and maintain vessels with acids or caustics.
  • Maintain production records and keep the work area clean and safe.
  • Operate cranes and mobile equipment to load and unload castings.
  • Operate and maintain leaching autoclaves and related equipment.
  • Ensure castings' identity is maintained throughout processes.
  • Perform process checks on caustic solutions.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to access export-controlled items (applicants must qualify legally).
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship not available).
  • Ability to operate robotic equipment, cranes, and mobile equipment after training.
  • Must pass exams for equipment operation.
  • Ability to work in a team and be clean-shaven.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and operate multiple equipment simultaneously.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work in hot/cold environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing experience.
Physical Demands & Equipment Used
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs.
