Production Worker (Advanced Manufacturing Workcell - 2nd Shift)

Join us as a Production Worker (Advanced Manufacturing Workcell - 2nd Shift) at Howmet Aerospace.

Overview

Howmet Engines produces aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, rings, disks, and forgings. We specialize in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, coatings, and hot isostatic pressing for high-performance parts that support quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation. Our Dover Casting and Alloy divisions supply complex turbine airfoils and high-quality superalloys to aerospace and industrial markets.

Position Details

We are seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Workcell team member for our Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey. The Afternoon Shift hours are Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Training occurs on the 1st Shift, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting hourly rate is $24.79, increasing to $27.35 after 12 months. Shift premiums apply for off-shift work. Benefits include paid vacation, holidays, 401(k) with company match, health benefits, life insurance, EAP, tuition assistance, and a free fitness center membership.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate Water Jets, 4/5 Axis CNCs, grinders, and super polish equipment.
• Load/setup tooling and castings, verify fitment.
• Set up and operate vibratory equipment.
• Inspect surface finish using profilometers and sieves.
• Perform 100% inspection per instructions.
• Adjust feed rates, speeds, and offsets for non-conforming castings.

Qualifications

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Reside within 50 miles of Dover, NJ.

Preferred Skills

• Blueprint reading and CNC experience.
• Milling high-performance superalloys.
• 1-3 years in manufacturing/engineering environments.

Additional Skills

• Production environment experience, TPM familiarity.
• Good communication, mechanical/electrical aptitude, troubleshooting skills.

Environmental, Health & Safety

• Implement EHS policies, wear PPE, report incidents and concerns, attend training.

Physical and Equipment Requirements

• Use of computers, manufacturing equipment, and working in a manufacturing environment.
