Responsibilities

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries. The role supports the Dover Casting group operating in Dover, New Jersey, focusing on advanced manufacturing workcell operations.

Work hours: Afternoon Shift Monday to Friday 3 PM – 11 PM.

Training period: 1st Shift Monday – Friday 7:00 A – 3:00 P.

Compensation: $25.66 per hour initially; $28.31 after 12 months. An hourly shift premium is paid for off‑shift work.

JOB SUMMARY

Assist with advanced manufacturing operations, including equipment operation, inspection, and troubleshooting, ensuring high‑quality castings and safety compliance.

Environment & Safety Responsibilities

• Implement Alcoa/Howmet EHS values and policy, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Wear required personal protective equipment.
• Report all job‑related illnesses, injuries, and safety concerns promptly.
• Attend all EHS training sessions.

Position Overview / Essential Functions

• Operate water jets, 4/5‑axis CNCs, rise and fall grinders, and super polish equipment.
• Load and set up tooling (fixtures) and castings into 6‑point nests, verifying fitment.
• Set up and operate vibratory equipment.
• Use a profilometer for surface finish inspection per job instruction.
• Sieve media as instructed to maintain optimal quality.
• Perform 100 % inspection for each cast upon completion.
• Set tools (end mills) correctly.
• Identify fixture and tooling wear.
• Follow product criteria to ensure quality castings.
• Respond to non‑conforming castings by adjusting feed rates, speeds, and offsets.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
• Ability to access export‑controlled items as required.
• Residence within 50 miles of Dover, NJ.

Preferred Knowledge

• Ability to read product blueprints.
• Experience with CNC machines.
• Experience milling high‑performance super alloys.
• 1–3 years in an engineering or manufacturing environment, including troubleshooting automated equipment.

Other Skills / Abilities

• Production environment experience.
• Familiarity with TPM.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• PC skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
• Experience with industrial controllers.
• Methodical troubleshooting aptitude.
