Job summary

OLM Food Solutions in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Production Worker to operate and maintain line equipment, monitor processes, and assist with preparation and packaging, ensuring GMP, safety and quality standards are met. The role supports the efficient flow of product through production.

You will work on the production line, follow safety procedures, and participate in lean manufacturing, with opportunities to switch roles and learn multiple tasks across packaging and assembly.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • HACCP certification preferred.
  • Basic math functions and measurements.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and work with diverse tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production line according to procedures; may switch positions every 2 hours.
  • Follow safety procedures; report injuries and unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain GMP, HACCP, OSHA standards in work environment.
  • Learn Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis.
  • Perform general labor and handling of palletized product.
  • Stack product on pallets (up to 25-lb cases).
  • Set up metal detectors and box taper; run inserter as needed.
  • Start up/shut down line operations as required.

Job Description

The Production worker is responsible for operating and maintaining line equipment, monitor the process, and assist production line with the preparation and packaging products ensuring all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety and quality standards are met and maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duties assigned to best serve the company

Position Responsibilities:
  • Works on Production line, according to procedures. May switch positions every two (2) hours and may be required to work other positions within the Production facility.
  • Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Report any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition.
  • Maintain and follow GMP, ServSafe, HACCP, SQF, OSHA and OLM Food Solutions standards in the work environment.
  • Ability to learn, participate and become knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing practices, 6 Sigma and Root Cause Analysis.
  • General labor.
  • Stack product on pallet.
  • Ability to run the inserter.
  • May start up and shut down operations for line.
  • Set up and change over metal detection & box taper
  • Machine Operator – simple/complex.
  • Ability to utilize the box and bag maker.
  • Ability to accurately operate the cheese sealer.
  • Ability to operate pallet stacker, stacking 25-pound cases onto a pallet.
Required Qualifications
  • Education and/or Experience. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be at least eighteen (18) year of age.
  • Communication/Language Skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is a must. Ability to read and comprehend documents, simple instructions and product labels.
  • Certifications. Electric palate jack and HACCP certification preferred.
  • Mathematical Skills. Perform basic math functions with the ability to calculate figures and amounts.
  • Reasoning Abilities. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Strong analytical skills with ability to identify opportunities.
