Job summary

Nucor Rebar Fabrication Northwest in Tacoma, WA, is seeking a safety-minded fabricator to join our reinforcing steel team. You will unload trailers, cut and bend bars with dedicated equipment, and move materials using a crane. Training will be provided by a mentor to ensure safe operation of all machinery.

Responsibilities include operating shearing and bending machines, a power saw, and a spray gun for epoxy touch-ups, while maintaining a clean, compliant work area in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must uphold safety policies and housekeeping standards at all times.
• Experience operating heavy fabrication equipment is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Unload trailers and store material in bins.
• Operate a shearing machine or power saw to cut reinforcing steel bars.
• Operate a bending machine to form bars to required shapes.
• Use an overhead crane to move and assemble materials for fabrication or shipment.
• Apply epoxy touch-up or reinforcing bars with a spray gun.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Compensation

Purpose:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Bend, cut, bundle, and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customer’s orders. You’ll work with a mentor who will train you on safely using all machinery.

Responsibilities

• Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
• Operate a shearing machine or a power saw to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths, and a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shape.
• Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Operate a spray gun in the application of epoxy touch up or reinforcing steel bars.
• Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
• Must be age 18 or over
