Nucor Rebar Fabrication Midwest in Sedalia, MO is hiring for a production associate responsible for bending, cutting and loading reinforcing steel bars to customer specifications. You will operate shearing, bending, Fabmatic machines, overhead crane and power tools while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Work involves overtime, shift flexibility, physical requirements and a safety-sensitive role; candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be legally eligible to work in the

• Safety-conscious and able to follow strict procedures.
• Ability to lift and work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate shearing and bending machines to cut and shape reinforcing steel bars.
• Use overhead crane to move, assemble, and load materials for fabrication and shipping.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

Bend, cut, bundle and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customer’s orders.

Basic Job Functions:

• Must adhere to Nucor's safety programs and standards.
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor’s vision and values.
• Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
• Operate a shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.
• Operate a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shape.
• Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
• Operate Fabmatic machine that cuts and bends reinforcing steel bars to specified shapes.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Operate power saw for cutting reinforcing steel bars to specified lengths.
• Operate a spray gun in the application of epoxy touch up or reinforcing steel bars.
• Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
• Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.
• Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

• Some heavy lifting may be necessary
• Working conditions can be noisy/ dusty/ hot/ cold

Special Demands:
