John Deere Ottumwa Works in Ottumwa, IA seeks a Production Welder to perform welding operations in a production setting focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. You will weld parts, adjust settings, read instructions, and use CNC/robotic equipment as needed.

Starting pay is $29/hour with benefits and opportunities for overtime. Must meet minimum qualifications including education/certifications and manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, NCRC, or 3 years manufacturing experience required.
• Welding certification (or equivalent) or 6 months welding experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Weld parts and sub-assemblies to specification using various welding processes.
• Adjust voltage, heat, pressure, and speed to maintain quality.
• Read and follow work instructions and procedures.
• Record data with manufacturing tools for quality and maintenance.
• Check results for conformance to specifications and correct as needed.
• Operate forklifts/industrial trucks to move materials and equipment.
• Use CNC/robotic welding equipment, safety gear, manual arc welders, grinders, hoists, fixtures, and hand tools.
• Lubricate, check, and clean equipment and tooling.
• Support and assist team members; maintain a clean work area.
