Job summary

The Wenthe-Davidson Engineering Co. in New Berlin, WI is seeking a MIG welding technician for the first shift (Mon–Fri, 5:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.).

You will fit, align, weld or tack weld metal parts, and use fixtures to position pieces while producing high-quality welds. Visual inspection and post-weld tasks are part of the role. Minimum qualifications include a HS diploma or GED, with welding training or a certificate preferred.

Qualifications

• Education – HS diploma or GED; welding certificate preferred not required.
• Familiarity with MIG TIG LBW welding processes.
• Technical welding training or less than 1 year of experience.
• Quality assurance: ability to perform weld visual inspection.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have solid MIG welding experience and enjoy working independently. First shift hours are Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Fit, align and weld or tack weld metal parts together following work instructions and established procedures.
• Use jigs and holding fixtures where available to location and position pieces and materials.
• Efficiently produce quality welds.
• Perform or assist with post weld cleanup, inspection and repair.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Education – H.S. Diploma or GED. Technical Diploma or Certificate in Welding preferred, but not required.
• Must have familiarity with GMAW (Mig), GTAW (Tig), and/or LBW (Laser Beam).
• Requires technical training in welding and/or less than 1 year of experience.
• Quality Assurance: The ability to perform visual inspection of welds and surface condition to ensure quality standards.

Physical Demands

• The ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds for up to eight (8) hours per day.
• The ability to bend and lift fifty (50) pounds between floor level and a height of five feet six inches (5'6
