Job summary

Ameri-Force, Inc. in Michigan is seeking a Welder to join our skilled trades team. You will sand and grind welds, set up and adjust equipment, cut and fabricate parts, assemble and weld components, and perform quality checks with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Safety and teamwork are essential across multiple assemblies. You will operate startup/shutdown procedures, maintain equipment, and collaborate with colleagues to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic mechanical abilities.
  • Basic mathematical abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Organizational and communication skills.
  • Desire to learn new skills and improve knowledge.
  • Safety, quality, and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Sand and grind welds to meet quality and production standards.
  • Self-sufficient on start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Select appropriate weld setting for quality welds.
  • Cut and fabricate parts from raw stock material.
  • Assemble and weld components for products.
  • Use measuring tools (tape, calipers, micrometers).
  • Operate equipment to assemble and weld components.
  • Perform quality checks on parts with gauges.
  • Collaborate with team to complete assemblies on multi-person lines.
  • Check welds for strength and integrity.
  • Maintain welding equipment and perform repairs as needed.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols.

Welder

  • Sand and grind welds as needed to meet appropriate quality and production standards
  • Self-sufficient on start-up and shutdown equipment procedures
  • Select appropriate weld setting to obtain a quality weld
  • Cut and fabricate parts from raw stock material
  • Assemble and weld components for products
  • Use measuring tape and other tools
  • Operate all necessary equipment to assemble and weld components
  • Perform quality checks of parts as needed including effective use of calipers, micrometers, and functional gauges
  • Work with other employees to complete assemblies on multiple person operations
  • Check welds for strength
  • Conduct welding equipment maintenance and repairs as needed
  • Always follow strict safety guidelines and protocols
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project success and timely completion
  • Check and inspect all parts
  • Move finished assemblies to appropriate area
Job Qualifications
