Summary of Job
Under the direction of the Operator and Assistant Operator, oversees the production of high-quality products at the lowest cost while meeting company standards, customer specifications, and delivery requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Assist the operator and assistant operator to ensure all quality checks are completed and production orders are produced according to specifications.
2. Assist lead with cycle counts to ensure necessary supplies are available, including but not limited to bags, cores, labels, boxes.
3. Grind scrap material for reuse or disposal.
4. Manage solvent, glue, and oil areas safely and orderly. Change glue totes as required and assist press crews in obtaining consumables.
5. Maintain housekeeping in the work area, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper waste containment.

Ensure compliance with safety and work regulations, including PPE usage. Report accidents, incidents, or hazards immediately. Attend safety meetings and training.

Engage in continuous self-improvement through apprenticeship programs. Maintain good employee relations and adhere to company policies. Be flexible to work on different production lines as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read a tape measure and document quality readings.
• Good mathematical skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, including operating forklifts and Powered Industrial Vehicles safely.
• Receptive to coaching and able to communicate respectfully to promote teamwork.
• Knowledge of safety requirements in manufacturing/warehouse environments.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow instructions, and adhere to safety practices.

Environment

• Indoor, non-air-conditioned environment with possible heat exceeding 90°F.
• High humidity and noise levels.
• Work around manufacturing machinery and moving equipment.

Physical Characteristics

• Frequent standing and walking, sometimes exceeding 12 hours.
• Repetitive movements and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Climbing stairs/ladders occasionally.

Position Details

• Full-time, hourly, non-exempt, shift work with rotating 12-hour shifts and overtime as needed.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Previous manufacturing/warehouse experience preferred.
