Job summary

Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products Group seeks a Production Utility Paper Machine/Runner at the Muskogee, OK mill to support tissue, towel and napkin production with a safety-first mindset. Starting pay is $20 per hour, with a possible increase to $22 after training and certification.

The job uses a 12-hour rotating shift that includes evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime. You will operate large equipment, perform safety tasks, manage housekeeping, and work with cranes and forklifts while

Responsibilities

• On-going development of job skills and safety training
• Owning and improving safety through hazard recognition, involvement, and risk mitigation
• Show initiative in problem resolution (work requests, suggestions for improvements)
• Recognize and exercise the decision rights to stop work if safety is compromised
• Operating large equipment to defined standards and product specification targets
• Operating cranes on all five paper machines
• Driving forklifts hauling chemicals, cores, blades and other products on the paper machines
• Follow Routine Duties Task Calendar and sign off department core saws
• Performing general housekeeping to ensure a safe and orderly work environment
• Performing required inspections, task calendar items, and OBC (Operator Basic Care)
• Assuming ownership of housekeeping in assigned areas
• Working as a team, cooperating while respecting others
• Documenting in-process data in the data entry system
• Working a twelve-hour rotating shift with overtime, in hot/cold/dusty/noisy environment
• Performing physically demanding tasks up to 12 hours per day
• Performing tasks in elevated and confined spaces
