The position involves gowning in clean-room attire, following strict hygiene and packaging procedures, and contributing to efficient laundry operations in a safety-conscious

Qualifications

• Reading ability, recognition of words and numbers; basic printing and speaking simple sentences.
• Arithmetic: add/subtract two-digit numbers; multiply/divide by 10s and 100s; use money, weight, volume and distance units.
• Reasoning: follow written or oral instructions; handle simple problems with standard procedures.
• Physical Demands: frequently stand; ability to lift up to 25 pounds and sometimes up to 50 pounds.
• Work Environment: exposure to wet or humid conditions; contamination control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sort articles by item and material type.
• Gown in clean-room garments with hood, coverall, boots and gloves.
• Follow best practices for clean-room environments.
• Weigh articles, load into washer, start washer.
• Remove clean, wet articles from washer and place into dryers.
• Bundle/package articles according to work orders.

Education

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Sort articles by item and material type.
• Gown in clean-room garments with a minimum of a hood, coverall, boots and gloves.
• Follow best practices for clean-room environments.
• Weigh articles, load articles into washer, start washer.
• Remove clean, wet articles from washer and place them into dryers for measured time cycles.
• Turn/right articles as necessary in preparation of packaging. Inspect for damage.
• Mend torn/damaged articles as necessary.
• Bundle/package articles to in accordance with work order requirements.

Education And/or Experience

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read a limited number of twoâthreeâsyllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands
