Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Production Trainer to instruct team members on line operations and standard work procedures. The trainer will promote safety, observe processes, and document training using the authorized methods.

Key duties include cross-training, machine setup instruction, and conducting quality audits while maintaining cleanliness and compliance with company rules.

Responsibilities

• Promotes safe work practices and trains others in safe work practices.
• Train employees using the authorized training process and document training.
• Performs Quality Audits and ensures operators follow Standard Work.
• Cross-trains employees to proficiently perform all tasks.
• Setup machines and teach others to independently complete this task.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Participate in Lean events and safety audits as needed.

Production TrainerJob PurposeThe Trainer shall be responsible for instructing team members on the operations functions of the line and adhering to all standard work procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesPromotes safe work practices and safety-first environment for all duties performed and trains others in safe work practices.Ability to observe/evaluate a process and identify improvement opportunities.Ability to write Job Instructions.Trains team members on safe work practices and regularly monitors employee work practices and performs environmental safety inspections to ensure trainee safety.Coordinates with management to complete tasks associated with the training of team members on the assigned workstation(s).Provides input into the evaluation of team members during the orientation.Train employees using the authorized training process and document training as required.Performs Quality Audits.Ensures Operators are running to Standard Work requirements.Ability to modify standard work when needed via securing engineering and management approval.Serves as Trainer and Mentor to new and existing team members.Ability to modify standard work when needed via securing engineering and management approval.Support various production lines as assigned to provide hands on training support to assigned team members.Responsible for cross-training employees to become proficient in performing all work-related tasks.Setup machines and be competent at teaching others to independently complete this task.Identifies and corrects problems which impact the efficiency of process to include equipment, materials, or skills.Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.Maintains cleanliness of work area and observes all company and safety rules.Perform preventive and minor equipment maintenance as required.Participate in Lean events as well as housekeeping and safety audits as needed and practice CI principles.Qualifications and ExperiencePrevious experience in manufacturing environmentExperience operating multiple types of industrial machineryStrong communication and organizational skillsAble to lift up to 40lbs as necessaryAbility to work in work, heat, noise, dust, fumes, paint, chemicals and oils on a daily basisAbility to stand for extended periods of time
