Job summary

Viasat in Tempe, AZ is seeking an RF Test Technician to support multiple satellite, secure communications, government and commercial products in production and future Next Generator lines. You will troubleshoot RF devices, run tests, set up equipment, document findings, and help transition prototypes to high-rate production.

The role requires 4+ years in electronics, an associate degree in a technical field, and experience reading schematics.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related experience in electronics field.
• Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent RF testing experience.
• Experience in testing electronic products.
• Ability to read schematics and understand electronic circuits.
• Familiarity with common test equipment and troubleshooting methods.
• Ability to follow a test procedure and complete necessary paperwork.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office for documentation creation and modification.

What you'll do

Support multiple satellite, secure communications, government and commercial products currently in production and future Next Generator products . Your responsibilities will include understanding the testing of multiple product lines. You will work with team members to address various issues and support fixing technical problems from test and the field. You will also support qualification testing and help transition prototype units to high rate production. Additional duties include lab support and management, setting up and maintaining test and test equipment.

The day-to-day

• Troubleshooting and debugging of RF devices, down to component level.
• Run tests on Viasat products and report results.
• Perform testing; installation, set-up, tuning and data analysis.
• Assist in building, troubleshooting and maintenance of Specialized Test Equipment used in product testing.
• Assist in documentation writing, such as Assembly Drawings, BoM's, Wiring Diagrams, ATP's, etc.

What you'll need

• 4+ years of related experience working in the electronics field.
• Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience related to RF testing.
• Experience in testing electronic products.
• Ability to read schematics and understand electronic circuits.
• Familiarity with common test equipment and troubleshooting methods.
• Ability to follow a test procedure and complete necessary paperwork.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office for documentation creation, and modification.

What will help you on the job

• Some experience troubleshooting and repairing RF devices.
• Hands-on experience setting up and working with RF test setups.
• Experience using Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, and RF test equipment.
• Experience RF transmitters, RF receivers, and amplifiers.

Salary range

$32.21 - $50.96 / hourly. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $40.14 - $60.34/ hourly
