Job summary

Brooks Automation is seeking a Production Test Technician to join our team in Chelmsford, MA. You will set up, calibrate, test and troubleshoot circuits, components and assemblies, and help define test specifications from blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities include tests, potential rework, preparing technical reports, and assisting in selecting specialized test equipment. Base salary range is $27.64–$37.39 USD per hour, with a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Production Test Technician Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

• Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
• Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
• Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems.
• May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.
• Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
• May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.

CAREER LEVEL

Works under general supervision on a wide range of assignments that require a substantial knowledge of the discipline or function. Follows established procedures, processes, or policies, but is expected to use judgment in resolving issues or recommending solutions. May participate in project teams or lead portions of projects. Has a thorough knowledge of the basic principles, practices, and processes in the applicable discipline and has a working knowledge of related fields. Provides resolutions from basic to moderately complex problems. Exercises judgment within procedures and practices in selecting methods and techniques for arriving at solutions.

Compensation Base Salary Range: $27.64 USD to $37.39 USD. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
