Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, GA seeks an experienced flight test professional to conduct evaluations of production aircraft, engines, and avionics to ensure adherence to FAA certificates and performance specifications.

Under the direction of the Chief Production Test Pilot, you will conduct initial flight tests, support customer aircraft outfitting and modifications, and provide flight instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technically related field required.
• 7 years flight experience required.
• Previous Gulfstream experience desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial flight test of Gulfstream aircraft and perform acceptance testing of production aircraft to evaluate airframe, engines and avionics for FAA Certificate of Airworthiness.
• Represent Gulfstream on FAA Certificate of Airworthiness flight checks.
• Conduct test flights of customer aircraft after outfitting, modifications, or post-service maintenance.
• Evaluate used aircraft for airworthiness and compliance with production standards.
• Provide ground and flight instruction to company and customer flight crews on new products and systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Previous Gulfstream experience with GVI, GVII & GVIII type ratings, CFI and Functional Test Pilot experience preferred. Must be able to maintain an FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technically related field required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 7 years flight experience. Previous experience with Gulfstream aircraft desired but not required..

Position Purpose:

Under the direction of the Chief Production Test Pilot and/or Senior Production Test Pilot, conduct flight test evaluations of production aircraft, engines, avionics systems, and other related systems to assure that aircraft is in accordance with existing design and performance specifications

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

• Conduct initial flight test of Gulfstream aircraft and perform acceptance testing of production aircraft to functionally evaluate the airframe, engines and avionics to assure that the aircraft meets FAA Certificate of Airworthiness standards. Debrief engineering and manufacturing personnel on ground and flight discrepancies and provide technical assistance to aid in resolving discrepancies and problems.
• Represent Gulfstream on FAA Certificate of Airworthiness flight checks.
• Conduct test flights of customer aircraft following initial outfitting of new aircraft, modification of current aircraft to the next level of certification, and post Service Center maintenance.
• Conduct evaluation flights of used aircraft being sold and/or traded in to ascertain airworthiness and compliance with current functional standards for production aircraft.
• Conduct customer pilot training flights as required. to support the needs of the customer.
• Provide ground and flight instruction to company and customer flight crews on operations of new aircraft products, new installed systems, and new or upgraded appliances. .

Additional Functions:

• Support Sales and Marketing by conducting technology briefs in the ITF and local sales demonstration flights. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

• FAA Airline Transport Pilot license (ATP/ATPL) or ability to attain ATP/ATPL.
• Previous experience in flight test or as a maintenance test pilot.

This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
