Position Overview

WFXT Boston has an immediate opening for a Production Technician. The successful candidate’s duties will revolve around Broadcast Operations in a fast-paced Live News environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Directing newscast using automation
• Directing talent in the studio
• Operating prompter as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Broadcast environment, ideally in an operational role.
• Great attitude and proven ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to handle last minute changes in breaking news scenarios.
• Willingness and flexibility to assist in whatever role and/or shift is needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience Directing a newscast and handling all coordination that comes with live news, such as, organizing and incorporating a wide mix of broadcast components (satellite feeds, interviews, breaking news, server playback, advanced graphics systems, etc.) into each program.
  • Familiarity with Control Room Automation. Ross Overdrive or Sony ELC a plus.
• Experience with iNews or comparable Newsroom systems.
• Familiarity with Chyron or similar Graphics systems.
• Familiarity with Prompting systems.
• Experience with Robotic Cameras.
• Familiarity with different Audio Boards.

The wage range for this position is $20.49 per hour to $30.00 per hour.
