Job description

Production Technician - Weekend - First Shift

Join to apply for the Production Technician - Weekend - First Shift role at Commonwealth Fusion Systems.

This role involves performing and monitoring manufacturing processes to build and test superconducting magnets, contributing to clean energy solutions. The position requires 6+ years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly, working hours from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, and working three weekend days. Compensation ranges from $30 to $41 per hour, plus a 15% differential.

Responsibilities include:
  • Building electromechanical parts and assemblies
  • Developing and qualifying manufacturing techniques
  • Performing builds according to procedures
  • Troubleshooting manufacturing discrepancies
  • Using mechanical and calibrated tools
  • Interpreting drawings and diagrams
  • Operating production and testing equipment
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or higher
  • 6+ years experience with hand tools and in mechanical or electrical assembly
Preferred skills:
  • Experience with winding equipment, PLC, cryogenic chemicals, power tools, electrical schematics, soldering, vacuum systems, wiring, and epoxy potting
Essential requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform physical activities and work safely with hazards
