Overview of the Company

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full-power broadcast television stations in the U.S., including stations in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas (DMAs). The stations include duopolies in 11 DMAs, such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, which are the three largest DMAs. Eighteen of these stations are affiliated with the FOX Network. The company distributes sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, and produces approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly, leveraging viewer, distributor, and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.

Job Description

Amazing Opportunity for a Production Technician @ FOX 35 Orlando!

Working in the Engineering department, the ideal candidate will have knowledge of AM, PM News, and other show formats. Responsibilities include:

  1. Receiving and implementing directives from the Director via headset.
  2. Communicating clearly and coherently in person and on headset.
  3. Anticipating the needs of the Director.
  4. Ensuring talent and guests' microphones are charged, on proper frequency, turned on properly, and have corresponding IFBs when applicable.
  5. Conducting microphone and live-remote audio checks prior to air and informing the director of any issues.
  6. Ensuring talent is miked and informed of cues, and verifying all studio equipment functions properly before air.
  7. QC audio levels and mixing using the QC monitor.
  8. Labeling RTS panels correctly with studio or remote talent information.
  9. Updating music request playlists daily.
  10. Knowing camera-blocking positions and ensuring camera shots are in focus and framed correctly.
  11. Creating creative bump shots and standard shots.
  12. Changing batteries in microphones and IFBs as needed.
  13. Maintaining cleanliness and safety of the studio, PCR, and audio booth.
  14. Filling in as needed with Sony ELC coding and show execution.
  15. Making minor repairs to equipment.
  16. Operating the prompter when needed and understanding lighting basics.
  17. Maintaining the audio booth, prop room, cameras, and prompters.
  18. Interacting professionally with talent, producers, and crew.
Physical Requirements

Regularly standing, walking, sitting, reaching, talking, or hearing; occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; lifting up to 10 pounds; vision abilities include close, distance, color, and focus adjustment.

Qualifications

Basic understanding of television production and automation systems.

Education

College degree or equivalent experience in television.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay rate/range is $16.00-20.00 per hour, dependent on education, skills, experience, and location. Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits per plan documents. Union employees' benefits are governed by the collective bargaining agreement.
