Job description

The Production Technician role involves setting up, sanitation, and operating equipment for trials, with a focus on supporting the Cereal platform. The technician will also provide strong customer service for various ITQ platforms.


This position is scheduled for four days per week, 10 hours per day, from 10 PM to 8 AM. The role supports Team 2 on third shift, with the following schedule:


  • Team 1: Sunday - Wednesday (Thursday morning 8 AM)
  • Team 2: Monday - Thursday (Friday morning 8 AM)

Work days, start times, and end times may change based on business needs. This is a flexible position, requiring support across multiple platforms and the ability to learn various operations to develop broader capabilities. With advance notice, the candidate may need to shift to different hours or shifts, including up to 2 hours of overtime before or after the scheduled shift, and occasionally support 8-12 hour shifts on weekends.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Operate equipment safely, understand food safety requirements, and perform risk assessments
  • Conduct basic analytical tests and troubleshooting; build skills in basic unit operations
  • Be agile and flexible to work across teams within a platform as needed
  • Perform equipment sanitation and basic setup activities
  • Apply basic technical skills related to product, process, and packaging

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • High School Diploma with 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working in teams to achieve results
  • Basic computer skills (Office Suite and other programs)
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in pilot plant or manufacturing environments
  • Ability to operate equipment confidently
  • Basic understanding of food safety and human safety standards
  • Adaptability to a dynamic work environment and effective communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships at all organizational levels
  • Conflict resolution abilities
  • Quick learner with a desire to acquire and apply new concepts
  • Ability to influence others and demonstrate leadership and ownership of work

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Two-year degree
  • Previous experience in similar roles
  • Foodservice and laboratory experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
  • Passion for food creation, CPG industry, and consumer trends (food and packaging)
