Position Specific Description

This position sits within the Power Generation Division which is responsible for all NextEra Energy’s non‑nuclear generation operations. It is a multi‑craft position that operates and maintains plant equipment. The plant is located in Pensacola, Florida. Preferred craft is Instrumentation and Controls.

Job Overview

Position performs power plant operations as well as maintenance on station equipment. The job will include other miscellaneous duties such as water chemistry and environmental compliance activities. It will require working a 12‑hour rotating shift including night shifts, weekends, and holidays, and responding to off‑hour callouts when needed.

Required Qualification

• Must obtain outside/inside operation qualifications
• Candidate must possess Journeyman level qualification specific to the craft discipline specified in the Position Specific Description as an Industrial Electrician, Journeyman I&C, or Journeyman Mechanic, or hold an Associate degree that directly applies to Power Generation
• Must obtain the basic craft of the discipline specified in the Position Specific Description if entering classification with a relevant Associate degree in addition to outside/inside qualification
• High School Diploma / GED
• Pass the POSS & MASS tests

Preferred Qualification

• 3‑5 years industrial experience in the craft discipline specified in the Position Specific Description
