Job summary

Bausch + Lomb in Tampa, FL is seeking a Packaging Operator II for aseptic filling and packaging operations. Shift is Monday–Friday, 3:00pm–11:30pm with start pay range of $22.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include line clearance, sanitation, documentation, and maintaining OEE while adhering to GMP and ISO standards. The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, strong documentation, math, and teamwork skills, with safety and quality as top priorities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training preferred.
• 3-5 years as Packaging Operator II or equivalent experience.
• Able to work quickly and under pressure.
• Good documentation and math skills.
• Detail oriented and quality conscious.
• Team oriented and excellent communication skills.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains production area to prevent cross-contamination (line clearance).
• Cleans/disinfects equipment after each run and performs line clearance.
• Responsible for maintaining OEE (system entry and standards).
• Properly document all activities and operations in the batch record.
• Performs basic troubleshooting to prevent equipment downtime.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Performs line changeovers of format sizes.
• Meets training requirements (SOP, EHS, HR).
• Supports OpEx and EHS initiatives.
• Performs GMP, ISO, EHS compliance within area.
• Attends OpEx improvement initiatives.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Operates packaging line and serialization equipment.
• Transfers components into aseptic area; CIP/SIP setup.
• Operates filling lines (ointment, gel, solutions, suspension).
• Operates CPMS/Fillings.

Objectives/Purpose of the Job:

The job functions and responsibilities include advanced operation of aseptic filling equipment including ointment fillers, gel fillers, solution/suspension fillers, line and equipment cleaning, line clearance, equipment disinfection, and proper documentation practices.

Packaging:

The job functions and responsibilities include advanced operation of packaging equipment including manual case labeling, visual inspections, bundling, cartoning, labeling, banding, line and equipment cleaning, line clearances, serialization, and proper documentation practices.

Key Activities/Responsibilities/Job Functions:

• Maintains production area to prevent cross-contamination (line clearance).
• Cleans/disinfects equipment after each run and performs line clearance.
• Responsible for maintaining OEE (system entry and standards).
• Properly document all activities and operations correctly and on time in the batch record.
• Performs basic troubleshooting to prevent equipment downtime.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Performs line change overs of format sizes.
• Meets and maintains all required training during the year (SOP, EHS, and HR).
• Support operational excellence and EHS initiatives.
• Assume responsibility for the GMP, ISO, EHS awareness and compliance within the respective area.
• Attend and participate in OpEx improvement initiatives such as reducing costs and OEE improvements.
• All other duties, as assigned.

Packaging:

• Operates packaging line and serialization equipment.

Filling:

• Transfer components into the aseptic area
• Set up for CIP/SIP
• Operates ointment, gel, solutions, and suspension filling lines including RABS fillers.
• Operates Continuous Particle Monitoring System (Filling)

Qualifications/Training:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training preferred.
• This position requires three to five years as a Packaging Operator II, Aseptic Filling Operator IV, or equivalent experience.
• Able to work quickly and under pressure.
• Good documentation and math skills.
• Must be detail oriented and quality conscious.
• Good team oriented and excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
