Job summary

Dole Packaged Foods in McDonough, GA is seeking a Production Associate to ensure the safe production and quality of Frozen Fruit. You will operate, maintain and sanitize packaging equipment, handle lifting tasks, and support a compliant, efficient workflow. Flexibility for shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications include reading and following SOPs, good communication, and a discrete understanding of GMP and HACCP standards. No formal degree required beyond high school.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Under close supervision responsible for the safe production and quality of Frozen Fruit through the operation, maintenance and sanitation of food production and packaging equipment. May perform the following tasks including lifting, stacking, dumping, pushing and pulling of frozen fruit boxes. Adhere to all GMP, HACCP, safety, regulatory, and company policies and procedures.

• Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)


• Follow all SOP’s (standard operating procedures) for the operation of the equipment used


• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.


• Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner


• Meet or exceed performance metrics including efficiency, production, downtime


• Work in all areas of production and packaging, as assigned, which includes operating, being in close proximity to and crossing over or under machinery.


• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job and perform as a member of a team


• Will perform a variety of production tasks: including lifting, stacking, dumping, pushing and pulling of frozen fruit boxes.


• Must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends and/or holidays


• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions


• Complete routine documentation associated with the manufacture of product


• Ability to identify visual defects and make correction as needed, and identify and distinguish between colors


• Must be able to work in areas of varying temperatures

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

• Must be able to pass job specific Physical Ability Test (PAT)


• Must be able to stand for 8+ hours on concrete and/or metal grating.


• Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 60 lbs. on frequent basis.


• Must be able to bend/stoop/squat/twist, kneel and turn throughout workday for varying lengths of time.


• Must be able to reach with hands and arms below shoulder level to above shoulder level


• Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 40-47 degrees Fahrenheit
