Job summary

Gexpro Services in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Level I Assembly Technician to join a manufacturing team. The role supports production on an assembly line, reads blueprints and wiring diagrams, performs soldering and mechanical assembly, and tests units for proper function.

Hybrid work schedule is offered; candidates with high school education and prior factory experience are preferred. You will work under safety guidelines and collaborate with colleagues to meet quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in factory or warehouse setting is preferred.
  • Proven work experience as an Assembly Technician or similar role.
  • Good eye-hand coordination to assemble parts into final product.
  • Ability to use hand tools to produce a final product.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical design and control circuits.
  • Ability to read and follow schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to perform every aspect of production and assembly.
  • Read blueprints, bill of materials, and work instructions to complete work orders.
  • Assemble/disassemble, solder, weld, machine and analyze electro-mechanical devices.
  • Test units to ensure functionality.
  • Maintain and update results for tests and inspections.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems to meet design specs and quality standards.
  • Assist other technicians and help with packaging as needed.
  • Keep workstations clean and organized.
  • Follow safety practices to maintain a safe work environment.

Position Summary:

A Technician employee cleans and operates factory equipment, works on an assembly line, puts together, and inspects products, and adheres to all factory safety guidelines and standards. The below job description outlines the essential duties and responsibilities and qualification for a Level I Technician:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Learn to perform every aspect of production and assembly.
  • Read blueprints, build of materials, and work instructions to properly complete work orders.
  • Follow procedures for the assembly/disassembly, soldering, welding, machining, and analysis of a variety of electro-mechanical devices.
  • Perform testing on units to ensure functionality.
  • Maintains and updates the results related to various tests and inspection procedures.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems with the completed assemblies, ensuring that the product conforms to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Flexible to help out in other areas as needed, including packaging units for shipment.
  • Completes work orders and requests in a timely fashion.
  • Assist other technicians to complete work orders.
  • Keeps the workstations clean and organized.
  • Use proper tools, PPE, and equipment to prevent unexpected incidents.
  • Applies best safety practices to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Performs accurate and quality work to meet customer requirements.
Qualifications:
  • High School or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in factory or warehouse setting is preferred.
  • Proven work experience as an Assembly Technician or similar role.
  • Good eye-hand coordination to construct small parts and pieces into a final product.
  • The ability to use various hand tools to produce a final product.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical design and control circuits.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics & electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow schematics, blueprints, and instructions as delivered for each product.
  • Ability to learn new technology, procedures, and specifications.
