Job description

This position is for 3rd shift: Monday night to Saturday morning, 11:00 pm to 7:30 am.

The Production Technician reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for setting up, monitoring, operating, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on assigned machines. The technician will inspect parts to specifications and make adjustments to optimize machine performance. A strong understanding of the responsible machinery and the ability to teach others are essential.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Set up machines to start production cycles, including calibration and cleaning, ensuring all materials are available.
  2. Control and adjust machine settings such as speed.
  3. Feed raw materials into machines.
  4. Perform production, inspection, packaging, and machine operation duties.
  5. Monitor production equipment effectively.
  6. Check output for machine-related errors or defects.
  7. Troubleshoot issues during the shift.
  8. Keep records of approved and defective units.
  9. Maintain activity logs and other documentation.
  10. Assist the maintenance department as needed.
  11. Maintain a safe and clean workspace.
  12. Follow quality and safety regulations.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Previous experience as a machine operator in a production setting required.
  • Knowledge of high-speed machinery and measurement tools.
SKILLS:
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules and manuals.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for 8-12 hours.
  • Proficiency in English reading and writing.

The approximate hourly wage is $22.00, including a $3.00 shift differential. Compensation may vary based on skills, knowledge, and location.
