Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Production Technician Associate in Gallatin, TN to assemble trailer components and conduct quality inspections on sub-assemblies.

The role supports first-shift operations, Monday through Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and process improvement. You will read shop orders, use measuring tools, and employ a variety of hand and power tools while collaborating with teammates to maintain production flow.

Qualifications

• Candidate should be able to read and follow job orders and procedures.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required; welding/technical training a plus.
• 2 years of warehouse experience preferred; able to travel and lift requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Assemble trailer components and sub-assemblies according to blueprints.
• Perform quality inspections of components and sub-assemblies.
• Identify and handle parts; use measuring instruments safely.
• Operate power and hand tools in a safe manner.
• Improve production methods and equipment performance where possible.
• Organize parts and equipment to maximize department efficiency.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Identify and perform repetitive assembly of various trailer component parts using blueprints or work instructions
• Safely utilize various measuring and inspection instruments
• Use various power and hand tools in a safe manner
• Work with a variety of materials, including steel, sheet metal, aluminum, solvents, oils and abrasives
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality standards
• Organize parts and equipment to maximize efficiency within department

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• A high degree of technical skills and assembling techniques
• Demonstrated ability to read, understand and follow job orders and work procedures
• Ability to perform work in a manufacturing environment

It’d be great if you also have:

• High school diploma or equivalent work or military experience

• 2 years of experience and proven track record of successful performance in a warehouse environment
• Availability to travel more than 75% of the time
• Good communication skills
• Proven ability to collaborate with and support other team members
• Ability to be engaged and productive while remaining flexible and adaptable to changing conditions and expectations
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

This job requires the ability to:

• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work outside on occasion
• Reach (including above your head)
• Safely walk, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
• Visually adjust focus, have depth perception and close vision capabilities
