Job summary

CBN Secure Technologies Inc. (CBN STI) is a manufacturing unit focused on producing secure polycarbonate documents such as Virginia DL/ID cards and related pages.

The role involves operating high-precision laser engravers and inspection systems within a night shift schedule (7 pm–7 am). The Production Technician will perform setup, calibration, and ongoing maintenance, document adjustments, and pursue process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in the USA.
• Fluency in English (speak, read, write).
• Must be able to work all shifts and overtime.
• Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Must pass CBN STI background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate laser engraving and vision systems (configure, calibrate, optimize).
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system equipment issues; perform maintenance per PM schedules.
• Document and communicate all adjustments to production systems.
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Type:Permanent, Full-Time

Work Model:On-site

Work Hours: Night Shift (7 pm to 7 am; 2-on, 2-off, 3-on, 3-off)

Rate of Pay: $25.50/hr + $1.50/hr night shift premium

Position Summary

As a Production Technician in CBN Secure Technologies Inc. (CBN STI)'s Plant Operations group, you will be responsible for operating, optimizing, and maintaining leading edge production equipment (laser engravers, automated inspection systems, etc.) that are used to produce various secure polycarbonate documents (e.g., Virginia's Driver Licenses and Identification (DL/ID) cards, passport data pages, etc.).

Responsibilities

• System Operation
  • Operate (configure, calibrate, optimize) laser engraving and vision systems.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system equipment issues.
  • Perform maintenance in accordance with established preventative maintenance schedules.
• Documentation and Communication
  • Document and communicate all adjustments made to the production systems.
• Efficiency and Improvement
  • Identify system improvements that will improve operational efficiency and/or quality.

Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

• Legally eligible to work in the USA
• Fluency in English (speak, read, write)
• Must be able to work all shifts and work overtime (as necessary)
• Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods and lift/carry up to 30 lbs
• Must be able to pass a CBN STI background check

Minimum Qualifications

• College diploma in Manufacturing/Mechatronics/Automation/Robotics/Engineering or an equivalent # of additional years of relevant professional experience
• Fundamental knowledge of the following:
  • Mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and schematics
  • Preventative and predictive maintenance
  • Equipment set-up, operation and optimization
  • Lubrication and basic repairs
  • Quality management principles, practices and tools
• Basic computer literacy (MS O365 suite of applications)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Mechatronics/Automation/Robotics/Engineering
• 1+ years of experience in Technician (or closely related role) within a manufacturing or print environment
