Base pay range

$17.00/hr - $17.00/hr

Job Summary

Production Technicians (Packers) are responsible for packing finished goods into cases, recording paperwork, changeovers, and code checks. Responsibilities include maintaining pace with production, packing quality products, labeling boxes, and placing boxes on a conveyor as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Remove packaged product from conveyor line and place into cases neatly and correctly.
  • Monitor packaged product for quality standards and verify date accuracy.
  • Straighten products on the conveyor line, operate palletizing equipment, and conduct periodic quality testing, weight checks, and metal detection.
  • Ensure correct packaging materials are used, track machine downtime, and maintain counts of finished products.
  • Assemble, tape, and transfer boxes for shipping, understand various packaging configurations, and maintain FIFO inventory.
  • Operate filler machines, assist with batching, and follow all safety, food safety, and GMP guidelines including CIP, COP, SIP procedures.
  • Assist in allergen monitoring, sanitation, QA recording, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of food safety practices.
  • Uphold SQF standards and promote a food safety culture as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA and safety standards.
  • Attention to detail and strong teamwork skills.
  • Positive attitude, punctuality, and ability to understand instructions in English.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift and aerial platform certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Completion of processing control and acidified foods courses within 6 months.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in various conditions including heights and temperature extremes.

Work hours: 5pm-3:30am Mon-Thurs.
