Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking a Production Technician to support composite manufacturing operations on the second shift (4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.). You will perform tape wrapping, cutting, compression molding, and hand layup, inspecting materials and maintaining equipment to ensure output meets specifications.

ISO 9001/AS9100 adherence and heavy lifting are required. The role emphasizes safe handling, accurate measurement, and adherence to detailed work instructions to support production flow

Responsibilities

The Production Technician supports composite manufacturing operations by working with composite structures, producing assemblies, and performing tape wrapping, cutting, compression molding, and hand layup activities. This role ensures high-quality outputs by inspecting materials, maintaining equipment, and following detailed work instructions and quality standards. It plays an important part in supporting production flow and ensuring components meet specifications.

Responsibilities

• Completes work orders and travelers according to production schedules.
• Applies International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 and AS9100 standards in daily work.
• Performs tape wrapping, cutting, compression molding, and hand layup processes for composite materials.
• Measures and visually inspects products using precision instruments to confirm conformance to specifications.
• Mixes and measures resin and adhesive materials.
• Adjusts oven temperature controls and reviews blueprints or instructions to determine methods or sequences.
• Maintains production and processing equipment.
• Performs upper-body mobility tasks including bending, using arms and hands, and standing for extended periods.

Required Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion.

Physical Requirements

• Constant standing, walking, or sitting for at least 8 hours.
• Pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, stooping, or carrying up to 50 lbs, minimum 35 lbs.

$22.00 an hour + $1.00 shift differential = $23.00 an hour
