Description

Perricone Farms, a leading citrus juice supplier located in Beaumont, CA, is seeking aProduction Technician 1,to join our team. This is fast-paced position which offers long-term, consistent employment with a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to Health, Vision, Dental, Life and 401K.

Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour + $1 Differential

Shift / Hours: 2ndShift: Monday - Saturday @ 3:00 pmto 11:30 pm

Summary of Functions:

As aProduction Technician 1, you will be responsible for the efficient handling and sorting of fruit to ensure quality and proper grading. Your primary tasks will include:

  • Unloading Fruit:Use a shovel to unload fruit from trucks onto a conveyor belt or fruit table.
  • Grading and Sorting:Grade, sort, and classify fruit based on size, weight, color, and overall condition.
  • Quality Control:Ensure that all fruit meets company standards and specifications before it proceeds to the next stage of processing or distribution.
  • Maintenance:Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of work areas and equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Unload fruit onto conveyor belt or fruit table for grading.
  • As needed grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage.
  • Discard inferior or defective products and/or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing.
  • Seal and fill empty juice drums as needed.
  • Grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage.
  • Notifies supervisor of unusual problems.
  • Works in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Follows health and safety guidelines. Maintain and keep work area according to cGMP.

Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
  • Conduct all verification activities to assure finished product comply with food safety and quality specifications.
  • Participates in the yearly review of the food safety system.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality system.
  • Responsible for Non-GMO SGS Supply Chain Standards.

  • Position reports to ShiftManager
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish helpful.
