Job summary

Latrobe Specialty Metals Distribution, part of Carpenter Technology Corporation, serves North America’s tooling customers with a broad range of products and services. Join our warehouse team to receive, package, and verify orders to customer specifications.

You will transport materials using lift trucks and cranes, check dimensions, and maintain accurate records while preserving a clean, safe work area. High school diploma or GED required; 1–3 years manufacturing experience preferred; basic math

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with circular saws, grinders, milling machines, lathes and related equipment preferred.
• Able to perform efficiently under supervision and direction.
• Basic math and measuring skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive verbal or written instructions from supervisor and other plant personnel.
• Operate distribution center/warehouse tools and equipment as instructed.
• Check dimensions of material before, during and after processing to maintain specified tolerances.
• Count and weigh pieces, weigh scrap, and segregate by grades.
• Stencil, stamp, and attach ID tags to material and packages as required.
• Color-code products as required.
• Verify and package orders to customer specification.
• Transport material between workstations using loaders, lift trucks and cranes.
• Keep production records and operate transmission equipment to enter, receive and send data.
• Lubricate, clean, adjust, and make minor repairs to production equipment and related tools.
• Keep hand tools clean and orderly.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Notify supervisor of any unsafe condition or maintenance repair needed.
• Assist with equipment and facility maintenance.
• Perform other duties as directed, including general labor duties.

Primary Duties

• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Notify supervisor of any unsafe condition or maintenance repair needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years previous manufacturing experience (preferred).
• Previous experience with circular saws, grinders, milling machines, lathes, cut‑off saws and other similar processing equipment, side loader, plate flipper, gas‑powered lift trucks, forklifts, carts, floor‑operated overhead crane, skids, scale, tape measure, micrometers, various hand tools, chains, hooks, slings, wood and other packaging materials, stencils, bar press, power nailer, power stapler, power bander, manual bander, plate and bar magnets, calipers, etc. (preferred).
• Able to perform efficiently under supervision and direction.
• Basic math and measuring skills.

Compensation and Benefits
