Your Opportunity as a Production Technician

At Smucker, we view our manufacturing operations as the heart of our efforts to deliver food that people and pets love. The role supports the production and packaging of pet food products, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safe and effective operations in support of the manufacturing of products such as Meow Mix.
  • Collect and analyze data to deliver consistent performance aligned with the highest quality and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Assist teammates as needed while promoting company culture and supporting shift goals.
  • Safely operate powered industrial equipment and follow all company safety rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Perform basic physical activities—climbing, standing, bending, twisting, moving around stairs, ladders, platforms, and various equipment.
  • Read, comprehend, interpret, record, and apply information from documents.
  • Operate and record operational data, communicate results, and track quality and waste metrics.
  • Emphasize sanitation and cleaning responsibilities.
  • Lifting objects up to 50 pounds frequently.
Qualifications
  • Manufacturing experience (preference for pet food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods).
  • Proven track record of good attendance and consistent performance delivering safety and quality.
  • Capability to work well in a team environment and to help solve problems and implement solutions with diverse employees.
  • Willingness to work shifts (12-hour 2-2-3 shift rotation, fixed days or nights).
  • Mechanical interest and operational skills.
  • Capability to learn new systems, record operational data, and communicate results.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
