Production Technician

Responsibilities
- Operate, start up, shut down, and maintain the Air Separation Plant and associated equipment, including tanks, controls, and truck fill systems, to ensure the safe and efficient production of high‑purity industrial gases.
- Monitor plant performance, analyze operating conditions, make process adjustments, and troubleshoot operational upsets to maintain product quality and production targets.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, including compressors, pumps, fans, valves, analyzers, instrumentation, and control systems, to maximize reliability and plant availability.
- Support timely repairs and plant restarts by troubleshooting shutdowns, equipment failures, and control system issues.
- Read and interpret P&IDs, equipment manuals, electrical schematics, one‑line diagrams, and company procedures to support safe and effective operations and maintenance activities.
- Follow and enforce safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hazardous work permits, and contractor oversight, while maintaining compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance activities and reliability improvement projects to enhance facility performance and availability.
- Collaborate with plant technicians, contractors, and other Linde business groups while working effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Utilize computers and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) for documentation, reporting, communication, and maintenance tracking.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Mechanical maintenance experience required; 3+ years of production operations, maintenance, or industrial plant experience highly preferred.
- Experience in air separation plants or similar complex process environments, including industrial mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls, compressors, HVAC systems, and general industrial equipment maintenance.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting, diagnostic, repair, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and test/measurement equipment.
- Ability to perform both office‑based and field‑based work, including working in confined spaces, climbing ladders and stairs, accessing elevated equipment via scaffolding and man‑lifts, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working safely at heights.
- Willingness to work extended hours during planned and unplanned outages, including occasional overtime, holiday, after‑hours work, and participation in an on‑call rotation every fourth week.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and build effective relationships across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Contractors, and other support teams.
- Military technical experience is highly valued, including Engineering, Machinist Mate, Electrician Mate, Gas Turbine Technician, Boiler Technician, Nuclear Technician, or similar technical specialties.
