Job summary

Plug Power Inc. is seeking a Production Technician in New York to join the Operations/Manufacturing team. You will hand-assemble electro-mechanical sub-systems and validate quality of GenDrive fuel cell technology, following SOPs and precise instructions.

This safety‑driven, team‑oriented role requires basic troubleshooting, tool use, and accurate manufacturing documentation, with overtime as needed to meet production demand.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational education/training is preferred
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing assembly position; electro-mechanical assembly experience preferred
• Quality focused and detail-oriented
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted

Responsibilities

• Hand assemble sub-systems and components for GenDrive fuel cell technology.
• Read, interpret and adhere to SOPs and assembly instructions.
• Operate hand and power tools as required in assembly and validation work.
• Operate material handling equipment, including manual and electric power jacks.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and problem solving to diagnose issues in the manufacturing process.
• Follow OSHA and environmental health and safety regulations; maintain safe workspace.
• Complete manufacturing documentation as required.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet manufacturing goals.

This role is responsible for the assembly and quality validation of Plug Power’s GenDrive fuel cell technology. Ideal candidates for this role possess a background in manufacturing of electro-mechanical assemblies along with a quality focus and strong attention to detail.
