Job summary

SK Battery America, Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment. You will troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, read blueprints, and document procedures to minimize downtime.

The role involves aligning and assembling components, coordinating with engineers and contractors, and adhering to lockout/tagout safety practices to ensure reliable operation of manufacturing equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Lift up to 35 lbs frequently and carry 20 lbs on stairs.
  • Able to stand and walk up to 12 hours per day.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to determine procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment with standard tools.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, log test readings, calibrate and adjust as needed.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to determine assembly methods.
  • Align, fit, and assemble parts using hand/power tools.
  • Coordinate with engineers and outside contractors for troubleshooting.
  • Ensure lockout/tagout procedures are followed during maintenance.
  • Prepare parts sketches and write work orders.
  • Maintain system logs and manuals for testing/operation.

Job description

  • Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical equipment in accordance with standardized procedures.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, using standard and specialized hand / power tools
  • Performs a wide variety of service work on equipment and machines. Maintain, Repair and Modification.
  • Assist regular inventory inspections for spare parts. Keep written documentation on inventory ordering and use.
  • Inspects and checks equipment for proper operating condition, makes necessary adjustments, logs test readings, and maintains, repairs, or replaces all essential equipment parts
  • Capable of working with outside contractors for trouble shooting procedures
  • Self-motivated person that works with little direction
  • Understanding urgency to trouble shoot machines and bring production back on line
  • Read blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, mechanical/electrical diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly
  • Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, templates
  • Operate metalworking machines to fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, and fixtures
  • Repair, rework, and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances
  • Prepare parts sketches and write work orders
  • Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify and plan requirements fabrication, assembly and testing
  • Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products such as industrial machinery or equipment, and measuring instruments
  • Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications
  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
  • Research, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations
  • Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts
  • Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment
  • Strict adherence to lock out tag out procedures
  • Replaces or repairs machine belts, chains, or cables.
  • Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
  • Connects wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, and splices wire and insulates wire with friction tape
  • Other tasks as assigned
Skill and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development)
  • 1+ year maintenance experience in manufacturing environment (preferred automotive, EV battery, Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35lbs.
  • The ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down the stairs
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours / day, including over varied and uneven terrain.
  • Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours / day.
Nice to have but not a must:
  • Experience in maintenance with Manufacturing Industrial fields.
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical maintenance, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Experience in handling Heavy equipment, spare parts or materials
  • Skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Reading Comprehension; Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
  • Writing; Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
